Description:

It is an evergreen tree that can reach 35 meters in height. The leaves are oval when the tree is young and become lanceolate up to 8 cm as they grow. It is characterized by the bluish tone of the leaves when they are young, and the color turns greener as the years go by.

The flowering is white and occurs in summer.

Culture:

Endemic to Tasmania, it is a tree that tolerates frost down to -15ºC. It needs dry and drained places for proper growth. It prefers full sun exposure but can grow in partial shade, which will slow down its growth.

Through pruning, an average shape and size can be maintained to adapt its use to ornamental gardening.

Irrigation should be low, although maintaining a certain humidity. The excess can negatively affect the tree, so it is recommended that it has good drainage through sandy soils.

Pruning is done at the end of winter, the fertilizer must be applied regularly in summer if it is grown in a pot. If it is on the ground, applying two organic fertilizers in the fall and spring will suffice.
