The Council of Ministers has approved a royal decree that modifies the regulatory bases for the direct granting of state aid for the renewal of agricultural machinery stipulated in Royal Decree 1055/2021.

This royal decree aims to maintain the momentum for the modernization of the agricultural machinery park by supporting the acquisition of equipment and machinery that incorporate new technologies and seek more environmentally sustainable practices.

The main novelty lies in the inclusion of the equipment associated with the maintenance of green roofs among the types of eligible machines, a modification that responds to a demand from the sector, with the aim of facilitating the renewal of this machinery, in coherence with the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) that includes interventions that promote these types of agricultural practices.

The measures provided for in this royal decree are aimed at encouraging the acquisition of new machinery and the scrapping of old ones, and seek to reduce CO2, ammonia and particle emissions, in addition to optimizing the application of inputs and fixing carbon in the floor. At the same time, it also seeks to improve energy efficiency .

With this modification, some documents that applicants must present are also clarified to facilitate the processing of the aid and improve the management of the procedure.

The modification of the royal decree complies with the extension of the validity of the community regulations on which it is based, Commission Regulation (EU) No. 651/2014, of June 17, 2014, therefore it also extends the validity of the regulatory bases that are now updated.

These renewed bases constitute the framework for the call for aid from the Renove Plan 2024 , the publication of which is scheduled to take place between the months of June and July.
