The FAME INNOWA Agricultural Technology Fair that has been held at IFEPA-Palacio de Ferias y Exposiciones de la Región de Murcia, from April 19 to 22, consolidates itself as a world reference in agricultural technology.
The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of the Government of the Region of Murcia, Antonio Luengo Zapata, stated that "this event consolidates the Region of Murcia as a world leader in agricultural technology", and that "it is the fair most important in the Spanish Levante and an opportunity to learn about the latest advances in innovation and technological developments that provide tools to farmers and ranchers to continue producing quality food in a sustainable manner".
Some 200 companies, both national and foreign, leaders in the sector, have participated in FAME INNOWA 2023, occupying 27,000 square meters of exhibition space and representing agricultural subsectors, such as technological start-ups, fertigation systems, water treatment, phytosanitary products, biological control of pests, packaging and labeling systems, agricultural machinery, public and private R+D+i departments, hardware and software IT solutions, greenhouse construction, plastics, renewable energy, among others.
The director of IFEPA, Antonio Miras, has highlighted that the response both at the level of participation, and of professionals who have visited it, has been very positive, and "encourages us to continue working on this key and necessary event in the Region of Murcia , a Region that is an example of agricultural innovation and that exports advanced technology to the whole world”.
The event has had a technical organizing committee made up of the main agents of the agricultural sector in the Region of Murcia, such as the Regional Administration, training and research centers, agricultural organizations, business associations, Universities, banking entities, etc. who have bet and supported the contest, and collaborated in its organization. These members have been working for the last year and a half to launch this 2023 edition and try to ensure its success as much as possible.
FAME INNOWA has also had important sponsors such as the INFO-Institute for Promotion of the Region of Murcia, Cajamar, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena-UPCT, Caja Rural Central, Agrobank, Subasur or Roldán Netya, and collaborators such as the Professional Associations, Melones El Abuelo, CEBAS, IMIDA, Proexport, Asaja, SCRATS, Campo de Cartagena Irrigation Community, Cartagena Port Authority, among others.
In parallel, the Innowa FORUM, the Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Forum, has been held, which has had prominent scientific disseminators, such as David del Pino, who addressed the disruptive trends in fruit and vegetable marketing at the inaugural conference.
Digitization applied to the agricultural sector, environmental sustainability in agri-food production, electronic field notebooks or the future challenges of agriculture in the Region of Murcia, were the axes on which a complete program of presentations and communications has been developed to which industry professionals were able to attend free of charge, after registering on the IFEPA website.
There has also been the presence of trade missions, this year, from Latin America and a trade contact with Mauritania, in which several companies have been able to participate through a webinar.
