More than 500 people will attend the 50th Parjap Congress

This year, the conference organized by AEPJP will focus its theme on Nature-Based Solutions (NBS)

The PARJAP Congress arrives from May 8 to 10 in Pamplona (Navarra) to analyze Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) as a commitment to the future. This event of international scope, organized by the Spanish Association of Parks and Public Gardens (AEPJP) together with the Pamplona City Council, will take place at the Navarra Conference Center and Auditorium, better known as Baluarte, where more than 500 people will meet. during the three days of presentations, round tables and networking sessions.

In this 50th edition of the National Congress of Public Parks and Gardens, the program will have four thematic blocks around Nature-Based Solutions : 'The SBNs in the framework of territorial planning', 'The SBNs and their application at scale city', 'The application of SBNs in public green space' and 'SBNs and their application on a microscale'. Nearly 30 speakers, including professional and scientific experts from Spain and other countries such as Italy, France and Germany, will share different experiences and research about the potential and benefits of nature in conferences and round tables.

The inaugural conference of PARJAP 'SNB approaches for the restoration of the urban ecosystem' will be given by the director of the Institute of Research on Terrestrial Ecosystems (IRET), Carlo Calfapietra, after the official opening of the Congress by the mayor of Pamplona, Joseba Asiron, and the president of the AEPJP, Pedro Calaza. The renaturalization of cities, the Green Infrastructure plan of the Navarrese capital, gardens without water or the conservation of soil biodiversity are other prominent topics in the space for presentations and round tables.

Nearly 30 professional and scientific experts from Spain, Italy, France and Germany will share in conferences and round tables different experiences and research about the potential and benefits of nature in cities, territorial planning and the fight against climate change

Thus, the PARJAP Congress aims to reflect on the use of green space when facing climate change, as a specialized forum aimed at public administration technicians, managers of maintenance and conservation companies, consultants, gardening companies, and students of degrees or vocational training. The Congress program includes other activities such as the presentation of posters, the planting of a commemorative tree in the city of Pamplona and the AEPJP Members' Assembly. In addition, the event has an exhibitor space, dedicated to companies that want to publicize their services in the field of Green Infrastructure.

A total of 24 companies have confirmed their presence with separate stands at Baluarte to make their work visible and generate new professional contacts and business opportunities at the PARJAP 2024 Congress, organized by the AEPJP and the Pamplona City Council, with the sponsorship of Kress and the collaboration of Imesapi.

The 50th National Congress of Parks and Gardens will end with the presentation of the PARJAP Awards . An activity planned during the gala dinner, which will take place in the Refectory of the Cathedral of Pamplona on Friday, May 10, and which will conclude three days of congressional sessions and other activities.
